WHAT IS WINCH SERVICE?

Auto Transport for Broken Down Cars
Its easy to ship an inoperable car
A winch is a mechanical device that is used to pull in (wind up) or let out (wind out) or otherwise adjust the tension of a rope or wire rope (also called "cable" or "wire cable"). In its simplest form, it consists of a spool (or drum) attached to a hand crank.

Winches are great tools in that they allow drivers who normally drive the vehicles onto and off of their truck before securing them to actually get a vehicle that cannot run or drive onto their truck just as easily as if they were to drive it themselves.

WHEN IS A WINCH NECESSARY?

INOPerable cars in need of auto transport service will require a winch in most cases due to the vehicle not able to load on its own power by driving up onto the trailer.
How to ship a broken down car
Non-Running cars require a winch for loading

The reasons why a winch would be needed to transport a car can vary.
Some situations can include:

❌ Starter Wont Turn
❌ Broken Transmission
❌ No Battery
❌ Fuel Issues
❌ Electrical Problems
❌ Engine Intake Issues

In any instance, if the car can not drive onto the trailer on its own power, then the vehicle would require assistance for loading. Not all car carriers are equipped with the winch needed to load a non running automobile.

If the car you are shipping is inoperable, be sure to notify the car transport company of the vehicles condition when placing your reservation. The last thing you want is a car carrier arriving for a working vehicle and not able to load because the customers did not make the company aware when booking. This would result in a new order being created and the process starting from scratch.

A winch can be a costly piece of machinery. Expect to pay an extra fee on top of whatever the
standard rate is in order for the driver to utilize their wench capabilities. Not all carriers have a winch. Those that do will expect a few more dollars for the labor alone.
Winch Service is available on most different types of hauler. From Open Car Transport to Enclosed Car Carrier or Flatbed Hauler, a winch can be equipped to pull up and load any inoperable vehicle that needs to be shipped.

AVERAGE COST FOR WINCH SERVICE

Transporting Inoperable Cars
Winch Service is not that expensive

If you need your automobile transported which you can not move yourself due to a down engine or dead battery or just a plain old break down, contact us for help.

We can winch your vehicle right onto our trailer and delivery it straight to your door step. We can also drop off your automobile to your mechanic. Just point the way and we go.

Winch service can run anywhere from $50 to $200 in addition to standard car transport cost and in some cases even more depending on the size and weight of the vehicle. In order for winch service to be available, the vehicle must be able to roll, brake and steer to allow our carrier to maneuver the unit onto the auto trailer. Once loaded, the car, truck, van or SUV would be securely strapped down to the frame of the auto trailer by heavy duty leather straps or thick chain which hold the unit down safely.
