What is COVID-19?
The Coronavirus or COVID-19, has affected much of our lives.
The car shipping industry must take steps to protecting drivers and customers from catching this pandemic. In order to maintain the best service possible without spreading this infection, we must learn how to handle situations where driver and customer temporarily share the drivers seat when picking up to delivery your vehicle.
The Corona Virus has been classified as a pandemic affecting many parts of the world. In order to contain the virus and make sure you and your loved ones are safe, we must all work together to avoid contamination and spread.
Is transporting a car possible during Coronavirus outbreak?
Yes. As long as both driver and customer can work together to maintain a safe environment. COVID-19 is real and can have serious affects according to the CDC.
Our goal is to bring about self-awareness to make sure that your car is protected from the coronavirus infection when having your car shipped. Cars can still be shipped safely but we must all put effort into making sure we are protected by following some simple rules when getting your car ready for loading and unloading.
How can you prevent corona virus from infecting car?
Here are 3 quick steps on how to protect your car and yourself from COVID-19.
✔️ Spray Inside With Disinfectant
Spraying the inside of your vehicle prior to entry is a good way to kill any lingering bacteria that may be on the surfaces or the air. Any spray disinfectant should be good as long as it contains over 60% alcohol which is the best ingredient in killing germs. This should be done when releasing or receiving the car. A good mist of spray over the seat and interior is a good way to kill bacteria.
✔️ Wipe Steering Wheel
With a clean towel, make sure to wipe down every area the midst of spray came into contact with to make sure you stop the spread of any virus which may be lingering. This is very important as step as the steering wheel is what you will be handling the entire time you are driving.
If you do not have a disinfectant with more than 60 percent alcohol, then do the best you can with what you have. Any cleaning agent with some type of soap is better than nothing.
✔️ Sanitize Your Hands
Before boarding and pushing the ignition, make sure to sanitize your hands with some type of disinfectant. A good hand sanitizer with alcohol content over 60% should be sufficient. This will actively kill any unwanted germs which may have spread to your finger tips when wiping the car down.
By following these simple steps, you can drive with confidence in knowing that the inside of your car is germ free. As long as we keep clean and continue to wash our hands, we should be safe from any virus that may threaten us.
How long does COVID19 stay on surfaces?
Researchers have exposed various materials to the virus in the highly secured labs. They found that it remained active on surfaces for a lengthy period: from up to 24 hours on a cardboard to up to 2 or 3 days on plastic and stainless steel. It also remained viable in aerosols. The bacteria can attach to particles that stay afloat in the air for up to 3 hours. That’s all basically in line with the stability of SARS, the corona virus that caused an outbreak in the early 2000s. Wired.
